Nye, Montana

If your battle cry is: "Let's get away from the crowds!" - this property is for you. It has been said that Montana is one small town with a long main street. Nye exemplifies that perfectly. The property is crested by rock formations and pine trees to the south. To the North, East and West the acreage is looking at mountains, cliffs and the Stillwater Valley. Just before you get to the Volunteer Fire Station, you come to the post office where a small wooden sign has the telltale words inscribed: "Entering and Leaving Nye."

To get into the National Forest take Hwy 419 West past the Big Horn Sheep wintering range and the waterfall in the mountains to the very end. There you have a spectacular hiking and riding trail following the Stillwater River for 26 miles all the way into the Yellowstone Park. You can also hike up to the waterfall and stand behind it - it is about two miles mostly uphill to get there. If you have guests, the National Forest maintains a campground right there, bring your fishing rods! The Stillwater is one of the few Blue Ribbon Trout Streams in the world!
